New Bat Standard for 2018!

All bats must have this stamp.

When considering Little League baseball equipment for holiday gifts and in advance of the Spring season, please remember that a very important new rule is being implemented relative to eligible bats for Little League baseball nationwide. Effective January 1, 2018, only bats with a USABat stamp will be permitted in Little League practices and games above the T-ball level. All bats with the stamp - including "big barrel" bats - will be legal. Please take a close look at this picture and make sure you see the stamp on any new bat you purchase!

Menlo-Atherton Little League will not be supplying the new bats to players. There is a wide range of pricing for the new bats, and high quality bats can be purchased at affordable prices. Having a correctly sized bat is of paramount importance. Kids swinging bats which are too heavy is a much more common problem than kids swinging bats which are too light. Buying inexpensive bats and upgrading regularly is a better strategy than spending a lot and trying to get many years out of the same bat. Please keep this in mind when purchasing a new bat.

If you have any questions about the new bats, please contact us at or

2017 Coaches Appreciation and Awards Dinner

M-A Little League wrapped up the 2017 season at its annual Coaches Appreciation Dinner held on November 16, at Old Pro, one of our loyal sponsors. At the dinner, the League announced its two most prestigious coaching awards: the Rory Fuerst Award and the Scott Barnum Award.

The Rory Fuerst Award is M-A Little League’s highest honor for a coach, and is intended to recognize a person who has given continually, not only for his or her own children, but to the greater Little League family and M-A community, leaving a lasting impact on the league. The Board recognizes an individual who "left the League in a better place than he found it." M-ALL President Mike Haven announced that the award recipient for 2017, as voted on by the board, is Jeff Phillips. The Rory Fuerst Award is a high honor, and is especially so for Jeff, because of his exemplary service to the league for a decade. Jeff certainly moved the needle forward for M-A LL!

The Scott Barnum Award, is awarded to the coach who best exemplifies the "spirit" of M-A Little League: "Play Fair, Strive to Win, Do One’s Best". Coaches are nominated by their peers in each division to receive their division's PCA Sportsmanship Award at the conclusion of the Spring season. The M-ALL Board then selects one of these division coaches as the leagues Official Nominee for Positive Coaching Alliance's, the Double-Goal Coach Award. The 2017 winner of The Scott Barnum Award is Pat Galligan!

It is our good fortune and honor to have both Jeff and Pat as a part of the M-ALL community. Please join us in congratulating them on their outstanding contributions and accomplishments.

Fall Ball in Full Swing!!

Fall Ball is in full swing!

Our Seniors division has completed 4 weeks of clinics with professional coaches, focusing on hitting, position play, and game situations. The players are excited to test their skills in game competition. Many thanks to our partners GamePrep Baseball Academy and Jamal Harrison for their great work with the kids.

Our Juniors division also is having a blast, with low-key practices and games each week. Huge thanks to our volunteer Juniors Fall Ball coaches for creating a fun atmosphere, sharpening the kids' skills, and preparing them for Spring.

Keep an eye out for Spring Registration starting in mid-November!
